CAC / Test Technician Milford HR7-00187

Job Purpose

Participates in CAC activities, and assures that CAC procedures are carried out properly. Accurately records CAC test results (including QC shot records), in computer database as test shots are made and action is taken on non- conformances. This position requires on-site presence and regular attendance to perform the essential duties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities





  • Good knowledge of the specifications of quality program.

  • Assures all work instructions and ISO procedures are adhered to through the process and throughout any non-conformance situation and subsequent rework/retest situation that may occur.

  • Participates in CAC Operation and activities, testing and verification of Inspection of Supplied Product (incoming) or Manufactured Product (i.e., liners, etc.) for acceptance.

  • Verifies QC targets, booster, main and liner powder.

  • Acts as required in the event that product needs help for retesting. Considers process deviations (administering and documenting for approval).

  • Provides real time QC data entry. Ensures accuracy of CAC test records.

  • Provides detonator count daily, and CAC explosives inventory and reports as needed.

  • Assures CAC supply of test components.

  • Meets needs of Production, Engineering and other requirements.

  • Recommends improvements to the safety program.

  • Remains aware of and notifies appropriately via CA/PA (short form), any opportunities for improvement in CAC area.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Experience

  1. Education and Training

    • High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

  2. General Requirements

    • Able to multi-task.

    • Good basic math and computer skills.

    • Able to cooperate and work with others as a team.

  3. Technical Requirements / Skills

    • Highly detailed and precision oriented.

    • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability.

    • Able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.

    • Knowledgeable in the use of basic inspection measurement instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

    • Capable of routinely working in dimensional measurements of thousandths of an inch.

  4. Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
  • Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.

  • Must be US citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the United States (student Visa does not qualify), in accordance with ATF regulations.
