Job Purpose

The Master Planner is responsible for the creation, implementation and optimization of capacity, production and material plans and schedules which predicate continuously efficient operations and customer satisfaction.  The  Master Planner is responsible for scheduling the utilization of people, materials, business systems and processes by means which most effectively serves customers and cost optimizes plant operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

•Leads the cross-functional process which aligns resources on optimal use of future manufacturing capacity on a long-term planning horizon.
•Develops and maintains the master schedule to establish the timing of operations and determine how to load the factory by means which best satisfies customer needs.
•Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
•Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
•Communicates master schedule status and actions to drive timely resolution of issues that are affecting schedule execution.
•Analyze and review manufacturing run sizes and communicate opportunities to improve the balance of cost and service among raw materials, conversion, and finished good costs.
•Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
•Develop and maintain stock levels and run sizes to economically support Sales and Shipping while maintaining minimum inventory levels.
•Create and maintain various reports and tools to effectively track KPI metrics related to manufacturing and production performance to plan.

Required Skills/Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of Business, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering or similar required.
•5 - 7 years of material management, planning and/or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment required.
•Must possess analytical aptitude, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
•Must be able to recognize and be discreet with sensitive business-related materials.
•Must be able to work with people to accomplish assigned tasks.
•Must be able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.
•Must be able to meet requirements for drug screen, background check, physical, and medical ability to perform essential duties of position.

 

MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.

Desired Skills/Experience

•Experience using ERP software and a demonstrated understanding of the MS-Office Suite of productivity tools. Dynamics365 experience strongly preferred.
•Strong knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, and customer service preffered.
