The Gas Holdup Tool (GHT04) has been designed to measure the gas void fraction in the wellbore around the tool.
To achieve the measurement, a 3 milicurie cobalt source is mounted in the bottom of the tool to emit gamma rays, which are then detected by a scintillation type detector for counting. The GHT tool provides an excellent measurement of the gas fraction in wellbores.
