The SeatGuard On-Seat Activated Dissolving Ball provides operators with a reliable method of activating hydraulic disconnects during coiled tubing interventions, along with a variety of other downhole applications such as shifting sleeves.
Designed to dissolve after activation, SeatGuard enables continued circulation and pumping operations without the need for retrieval, making it an ideal solution for hydraulic disconnect activation prior to rescue tool deployment and HydraCutTM operations. It can also be used for shifting a variety of bottom hole assembly, completion, or casing sleeves. By eliminating intervention steps and maintaining operational flexibility, SeatGuard helps improve efficiency while reducing non-productive time. HydraShock tools have the capacity to contain 50 balls, allowing up to 50 jarring actions. If the CT becomes free before pumping 50 balls, then the operation can proceed as before, without the need to pull the tool from the well.
Features
Proprietary pre-tensioned nitrile coating
Balls are pumped through coiled tubing or jointed pipe using our proven, time-tested methods to ensure they remain intact and do not dissolve until they are properly positioned on seat
Once seated, the pre-tensioned nitrile coating rapidly retracts, exposing the inner core and enabling fast dissolution
The Nitrile Coating protects the ball until it lands on seat, allowing it to be pumped directly with the dissolving fluid and eliminating the time and cost associated with spacer fluids
